The weekend of the 25th – 27th June 2010 saw both the Scouts and Cubs out camping. The Scouts submitted two teams for the District Barton Cup competition. The two groups, two of the youngest to compete, did really well. Had a couple of days of hikeing, cooking and camping and learnt loads. No silverwear this time, but I’m sure they will be going for gold next year.
The cubs were at the District cub camp, sharing a great couple of days with over 100 cubs from across the district. Our children really enjoyed the ‘World Cup’ theme and really embraced our adopted country, Australia, enjoying the bush tucker trial and all the other various activities.
Both groups had some great weather, some great fun and I’d personally like to thank all the parents, helpers and leaders (inc. District Leaders) who made both events such a great success.
P.S. – Cubs District camp pictures should be added to the website shortly
